Our bodies and minds are inextricably and intimately connected. 

Since you’re here, I trust you’re already somewhat familiar with that phenomenon.

But did you know that when we experience prolonged stress, anxiety, and irritability, it produces tension that gets stuck in our bodies which throws our nervous systems out of balance and compromises our ability to manage our emotions? 

Once our nervous systems become dysregulated, our bodies may then start to send us signals that can be hard to recognize if we’re already feeling overwhelmed.

This can affect our breathing, mobility, sleep, and digestion without us being aware of the cause. If you’ve ever experienced a tension headache or a nervous stomach, you’re familiar with how your body can experience emotions. 

Every body has a story.

 Maybe yours manifests in chronic pain, aches, and tension that detracts from your quality of life. Or perhaps yours tells of stress, anxiety, or trauma playing out internally and causing you to suffer.

If we don’t know how to listen to our body’s stories, we will never know how to respond beneficially, but few of us are ever taught how to do this. 

 That’s why I’ve combined somatic therapy-based practices with physical fitness training in private sessions designed to make you stronger, build resilience, and increase your capacity to work through emotional and physical challenges.

Somatic therapy was developed over forty years ago by Dr. Peter Levine as a pioneering holistic method for the treatment of post-traumatic stress. What To Expect

Sessions are a combination of exercise and talk therapy. While each program caters to the unique needs and feelings of the individual, most begin with a warm-up to regulate your breathing and tend to move towards talking about and processing feelings and emotions.

 By beginning in the body, we are able to regulate our systems more easily, which in turn creates space for deeper feelings to emerge and complete.

The exercise portion includes strength training, Pilates, and cardio circuits for a full fitness workout.
